ioby seeks a Brand Evangelist based in New York, NY. ioby is a community of donors, volunteers and leaders who are dedicated to making their neighborhoods stronger and more sustainable. ioby is a non-profit tech startup with a mission to support the individuals and groups that build neighborhood cohesion and urban resilience. This position is a critical part to ioby’s national scale up. 
 
Job Objectives
 
  • Implement ioby’s national project leader recruiting strategy
  • Support new verticals with a pipeline of issue-specific projects
  • Build a pipeline of national, regional and local partners
  • Positively represent ioby to a national audience
 
Job Activities
 
  • Identify and reach out to potential ioby users from nonprofits, civic organizations, faith organizations, neighborhood associations, labor unions, trade associations and coalitions
  • Create a network of ioby allies and influencers
  • Make regular announcement about opportunities at ioby to the network of allies and influencers
  • Present about ioby to a national audience by public speaking, blogging and sharing information in earned, paid and social media
  • Develop partnership relationships and solidify agreements
  • Create, use and share results from evaluation tools you create for your own work and those that ioby provides to you
 
This job is based at ioby’s headquarters in Brooklyn, NY, but does require some travel within the U.S. ioby’s regular business hours are 9-6pm Monday through Friday, but this job will require some work outside regular business hours. You’ll be expected to manage your own balanced workweek based on the demands of the job. ioby is a startup: You’ll be expected to bring new ideas, strategies, revise your work on short timelines and bring an attitude of continuous improvement and a culture of innovation. Ideal candidates will have experience in a majority of the following, in order of priority:
 
  • Community organizing, recruiting and / or sales
  • Managing relationships in Salesforce CRM
  • Identifying leads and transitioning contact management
  • Public speaking and community outreach
  • Leadership development, training 
  • Grassroots fundraising, online fundraising, crowdfunding
  • Digital platforms, online communications
  • Urban planning, urban forestry, community development in dense urban cities
  • Proficiency with all of today’s cloud-based collaborative software: all Microsoft Office products, Google Docs, Dropbox, Asana, Email Marketing, etc.

Compensation:
