Juneteenth is a celebration of human freedoms through triumph and adversity. We acknowledge where we began in this country and applaud where we've come. We also focus heavy on where we are going! To do that we invite all 2024 Graduates to join the JDF parade!
the steps
Once we have completed this fundraiser we will secure porta johns, protective fencing, and barricades. We will promote door to door in to encourage involvement and inform residents of the national holiday, Juneteenth!
why we're doing it
Juneteenth Detroit Festival partners with the local community, police and fire departments, city council, and chamber of commerce. The preparation for such an event along with the celebration does wonders for the social, economic, and political development ofeveryone involved
budget
Our first to-do items are reserving a dozen porta johns/porta potty $2200
We also need to reserve fencing and barricades for the 5k/parade/festival $1800
