This project will be ongoing from year-to-year with the long term goal of renovating the entire kindergarten open area into a functional outdoor space that supports creativity, multiculturalism, and learning. The social and cognitive skills that kindergarteners gain on the playground are just as critical to their development as those learned inside the classroom, yet this space has been terribly neglected. It is time to give the children of Will Rogers Elementary School the outdoor area that they deserve.

Our initial fundraising goal of roughly $4500 will go to the purchase of a 10 foot by 10 foot shaded sandbox structure with cover. Currently, children have sand play in a hole in the ground that is filled with a mixture of sand and dirt. There is no perimeter to contain the sand, no cover to protect it from the elements, and obviously, no shade for the children while playing. We can do better, and the children deserve better. 

As mentioned above, the fundraising for the kindergarten open space will be ongoing and along with your generous donations, efforts are being made to secure grants to support these projects. Any money raised through direct donations, that exceeds the cost for the sandbox, will go directly towards future improvements in the kindergarten open space.

Este proyecto se llevará a cabo de manera continua de año a año, con el objetivo a largo plazo de la renovación de toda la zona de recreo de kínder hacia un espacio al aire libre funcional que apoya creatividad, multiculturalismo, y aprendizaje. Las aptitudes sociales y cognitivas que los estudiantes de kínder adquieren en el patio de recreo son tan críticas a su desarrollo como las aptitudes aprendidas adentro del salón, aún así este espacio ha sido terriblemente descuidado. Es tiempo de darle a los niños de kínder de La Primaria Will Rogers el espacio al aire libre que se merecen.

Nuestra primera meta que se pretende recaudar es alrededor de $4,500 y servirá para la compra de una estructura cubierta área de 10 pies por 10 pies, y protegido con sombra.

Como se mencionó anteriormente, la recaudación de fondos para el proyecto llamado The Kindergarten Open Space Project (Proyecto de espacio al aire libre de Kínder) se llevará a cabo de manera continua y junto con sus donaciones generosas, se están haciendo esfuerzos para asegurar subvenciones/becas para apoyar estos proyectos. El dinero recaudado aquí, a través de una donación directa, que supere el cost de la estructura de arena se aplicara directamente hacia mejoramientos futuras para el espacio al aire libre de kínder.
