David Weinberger, City Partnerships Director

David works with municipalities nationwide to leverage ioby’s crowd-resourcing platform and services for inclusive and effective community engagement. He enjoys breaking down barriers to civic participation, building mechanisms for truly participatory planning, talking to people about their cities, and thinking hard about the transformative potential of bus shelters.

Before coming to ioby, David worked with the NYC Department of Transportation to plan and launch WalkNYC, the city’s first-ever standardized pedestrian wayfinding system. He has also worked with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the Democratic National Committee, the U.S. Department of State, and PBS.

David received his M.S. in City and Regional Planning from Pratt Institute, and his B.A. in political science and public policy from the CUNY Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College.
