Katie Lorah, Director of Communications and Creative Strategy

Katie leads ioby's communications, storytelling, and all things creative. Her background is in non-profits and urban planning — she’s led communications for Friends of the High Line, has worked on coastal resiliency for the NYC Parks Department, and has consulted on strategy for early-stage social enterprise startups. She knows the power of a well-told story. “Storytelling is really central to this organization,” Katie explains. “Each project has a great story, and I want to make sure they all get told.”

Originally from Seattle, Katie came to New York to study urban planning and journalism at NYU, and went on to complete her Master's in urban planning at MIT. In her spare time, Katie’s often headed out of the city in search of good hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing, and the like. She once hiked the entire Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada, and she is still a pretty fast walker.
