Growing up, both of Nina’s parents were chefs, so she grew up learning how to cook, bake, ferment, and think sustainably about food. Today she loves gardening, urban agriculture, and analytics, so naturally she enjoys evaluation and making data more approachable to people who may not like numbers. Prior to grad school, Nina worked for City Year where she planned neighborhood-building and community engagement projects, led afterschool programs, and put on school-wide fundraising events. She also worked in resource development and project management for DC Habitat for Humanity, where she helped bring in new partnerships and planned fundraisers. She has managed volunteer projects large and small, and has rolled up her sleeves to contribute sweat equity to many projects, from building homes to building bookshelves for a school library. Nina is currently the Manager of CDC Advancement at Cleveland Neighborhood Progress. She holds an MSSA and MNO from the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences.
