2018 was no ordinary year for ioby. We broke a lot of our records, got hundreds of projects done, and pushed the needle further on building a movement of changemakers. We’re not done yet, but the great progress we’ve already made was only possible thanks to the hundreds of neighborhood leaders–like you!–across the country who jumped in with us to get good done in our backyards. Whether you started a crowdfunding project on ioby, volunteered to help make it happen, or gave to a project or directly to ioby, we couldn’t have had an incredible year without you.
Here are a few amazing things our community did this year:
- With help from neighbor leaders in Cleveland, we launched our Racial Justice Toolkit
- The Obama Foundation honored our movement for civic change, including co-founder Erin Barnes in their inaugural class of 20 Fellows
- We reached over $5 million dollars in total giving to ioby projects across the country, from over 33,000 small-dollar donors
- We launched our 2018 Giving Report, celebrating an incredible ten years of civic change
There’s so much more to celebrate, and still more work to do. But for now, all of us over here at team ioby hope you have a happy New Year. We can’t thank you enough for a powerful 2018, and we can’t wait to see what good we’ll get done together next year.
