Creating your page
Overview
We have a brand new platform for you to use! This is the culmination of over 15 years of listening to your feedback about what works about ioby and what doesn't. We built it to make it easier than ever to launch, build, and cash out your campaign.Here, we'll orient you to how the platform works and highlight a few new features.
Starting with an idea
After you log in, click the "Start a project" button to tell us about your idea. This is a short and sweet introduction to what you're planning to do. It also provides our strategists with enough information to determine eligibility and how best we can support you.
Checklist
Building your page happens in 6 easy steps. You'll probably spend the most time in the "Tell your story" step. That's where you'll find the perfect pictures, video, and tell everyone why your project is amazing and needs to be funded.You'll also tell people:
- Your fundraising deadline
- Who your fiscal sponsor is
- How you'll be spending funds
Budget calculator
One feature we're really exciting for you to try out is the new budget calculator! Get to it in the "Manage money" step.Here, you tell everyone how you'll be spending funds by entering a budget category and the amount you'll spend in that category. The calculator will total it all up and let you know what fees to expect.
Submit for review
After you've finished all of the steps, you can preview your page and submit it for our team to review. This is when we'll confirm your project is eligible and help you fine tune your page if you need to. Please give 2 - 3 days for our team to review. If it all looks good, we'll launch the page and you can start collecting funds!
Running your campaign
While your campaign is live, you can edit it* at any time and review your donations list . You can also post updates about how your campaign and project are going. *With the exception of your budget.
Requesting funds
Another feature we're really excited about is the ability to request funds from your project dashboard. When you're ready, go to the "Request funds" section and update anything that's changed over the course of your campaign.Our team will be notified and you'll get 2 emails that will ask you to:
- Sign your project agreement. This is where you commit to spending the funds on what you said you'd spend them on.
- Set up your payment account. If you've used ioby before, you won't need to do this step.
Wrap up
After your project is complete, you'll need to return to your dashboard to submit a project report (5 short questions to tell us how your project went) and, if ioby sponsored you, submit any receipts for the funds you spent. Also be sure to post updates with photos to your page to let your donors know how your project went!This was just a quick rundown of the dashboard.
