Ideas Marketplace is about taking small steps for big impacts: residents and community-based organizations getting together to bring recycling, gardening, and educational opportunities to their NYCHA backyards.

Local organizations and grassroots leaders know the on-the-ground conditions and local priorities, cultures, and needs that lead to successful resident sustainability initiatives.

The vision for Fund for Public Housing's Ideas Marketplace is to create a virtual bazaar showcasing the many community-organizations and resident-led initiatives that seek to improve the sustainability and quality of life in NYCHA developments and for NYCHA residents. By gathering efforts underway in disparate locations throughout the five boroughs, the Ideas Marketplace fosters both the recognition of the variety and vibrancy of NYCHA resident-oriented sustainability initiatives and the opportunity for the leaders of the local initiatives to connect with each other to share skills, lessons learned, and resources.
