Detroit
About ioby Detroitioby is proud to work in Detroit, a city steeped in movements for social justice. This city has been the stage for significant movements, from the 1963 Detroit Walk to Freedom, to the continuous activism of women like Grace Lee Boggs, who famously wrote “transform yourself to transform the world.” Despite facing decades of "organized abandonment," a systematic stripping of resources by corporations and the government, Detroiters have consistently united to forge visionary solutions that honor Black cultural heritage, promote environmental sustainability, and reinvent urban food systems.Through civic crowdfunding and strategic initiatives led by our local strategist, Ross Harris, ioby supports Detroit's community leaders. These leaders are driving the city's transformation, ensuring that community power remains central to creating a sustainable and just future. We celebrate and amplify their efforts, recognizing that Detroit's spirit of innovation and resistance is essential to its ongoing renaissance. This includes incredible projects like…
