the project

Bublr Bikes is Milwaukee’s bike share program! With Bublr Bikes, you’re able to take a bike from one Bublr Station, enjoy a quick ride to a destination, and return the bike to any Bublr Station that’s nearby.  Many people in the Milwaukee neighborhood of Riverwest (which is bounded by N. Holton St. on the west, E. Capitol Dr. to the north, and the Milwaukee River to the east as well as the south) have expressed interest in having a Bublr station within their neighborhood.  As one of the top mid-size cities in the United States for living well, a Bublr station in Riverwest will further encourage healthy living through the utilization of bicycles as an easy mode of transportation connecting the neighborhood with other places in Milwaukee.  It will allow easy access to downtown for the residents of Riverwest as well as access to the eclectic and fun shops and restaurants of Riverwest.  A station in an area without funding from large businesses is difficult for Bublr Bikes to fund on their own so we are turning to community members to assist us in funding the installation of a new station.

the steps

Once funding is secured, the necessary components for the station will be ordered and installed in the Riverwest neighborhood.  It will take 3-4 months to complete this process and have the station up and running in Riverwest.

why we're doing it

Bublr Bikes believes in delivering a sustainable, excellent bike share system for all but unfortunately does not have the ability to fund stations in all desired neighborhoods.  Based on the feedback from many Milwaukee residents, Riverwest is a desired location for a new station so we are hoping that with the support of residents a new station can be built there.
