the project
Our neighborhood has a large percentage of folk wandering though our facilities with no way to charge their cell phones. They need to be able to contact parents, Uber, their bosses, friends for rides, etc. We are open almost 24 hours a day and there just aren't enough plugs for everyone to be able to charge their phones.
the steps
Obtain phone booth or compartmental phone booth for pole mounting.
Obtain solar charging kit and possibly a battery-storage system for nightime use.
Determing location that features sunlight and security.
Install phone booth into the ground, then charging system into the phone booth.
Install signage so passersby will understand the nature of the charching stattion.
why we're doing it
To help provide "functional hospitality" to visitors, guests, neighborhood residents, wanderers, and those in-need of cell phone charging when they otherwise may not be able to obtain it.
