the project
The Street Farm will be secured with a fence and a solar powered security camera in order for community members and volunteers to feel safe in the garden space. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for the community to gather, learn, and have fun. Activities will include classes about gardening, maintaining equipment, canning, and other entrepreneurial skills.
the steps
The first step is to secure the area with purchased materials on a couple of designated work days. Once all the installations are completed, we will invite the community, donors, and volunteers to the Fall Harvest Celebration and have our first movie night.
why we're doing it
We hope to generate better participation of the College Park Community in gardening and neighborhood unity. Bringing fresh fruits and vegetables into what is termed a “food desert”. Furthermore, we are promoting healthy food choices into this area which is dominated by more single parent and elderly head of household family units. We wish to impart knowledge and exposure on how to grow, care for, and prepare the produce into tasty meals.

Dear Supporters, Donors, Family, and Friends:
We have made it through our campaign "Coming A Together: A Step Closer" with GREAT success! Thanks to each of you for your hard work, dedication, and contributions. Our goal was $2500 which included the $107 IOBY Platform and Processing Fee. We were able to raise a total of $2564.69 with the help of Ellen Roberts and Lauren Patti at IOBY and each of you. Thanks to everyone and also to Ashley & Grow Memphis for sponsoring The Street Farm.
Please continue to look for future updates on the IOBY website for upcoming activities to complete the hands on work for the campaign. Looking forward to working with each of you soon.
