The Coventry Living Room Project is a community-led place-making effort. In 2023, we created a public, outdoor gathering space in Pekar Park, a plaza at the corner of Euclid Heights Blvd and Coventry Road. The Living Room was built to strengthen the sense of community and support small businesses in the Coventry Village neighborhood of Cleveland Heights.
This year, we are bringing the Living Room back and expanding it based on what we've heard from the community!
We are fundraising to add elements geared toward children, like a kid-sized picnic table and interactive chalkboards, and to support programming in the space - think events, like a musical performance. These elements will add onto what we already have: a stage, beautifully painted furniture, a canopy to provide shade, and planters. Work with us as we build a gathering space that is uniquely Coventry!
Our current timeline is below:
We believe that neighborhoods are stronger when the people in them see, bump into, and get to know one another. But we also recognize that the heart of our neighborhood - its commercial district - lacks the type of public spaces needed to make that happen. Fundamentally, this project is about building trust, making connections, and strengthening community.
