Every month there are free music shows and art at our location on 1465 Madison Ave. in midtown Memphis, TN. We never charge artist to showcase there talents, and admission is always free for the public to enjoy. Our shows are always fun, welcoming, and awesome though they could be even better with help from neighbors like you. With the money we raise though this campaign we will renovate our restrooms and install a new laminate floor! Last year we had a brand new electrical system installed and in the future we will undergo more renovations to better utilize our 400 sq. foot building and the 8,600 sq. foot plot of land that we are located on. We look forward to seeing you at our next event and thank you for your time.
the steps
Once we have the funds in hand we will immediately contact a contractor to acquire the appropriate permits and begin renovating here at the DORK arts space. Upon completion we will have an awesome show to celebrate and commemorate this wonderful and extremely important moment in the growth of the arts community in Midtown Memphis.
why we're doing it
As an art student and musician in Memphis and at the Memphis College of Art, you find that sometimes the stereotype of "starving artist" actually can be a real thing! It can be very challenging to afford a space to showcase your talents or to be inspired by others. This is why we feel so strongly about continuing what we do at DORK. After all, what we do is quite simple. We share what we can whenever we can and enjoy the fact that there is no limit to the creativity and inspiration we can experience together.

We are so thankful to our donors and proud to announce that the first stage of renovations at the DORK community venue has been funded! We will use the funds raised to replace our old and badly damaged fence! A new fence will provide us with better security for the tools and equipment we use at our shows.
