the project
Saturday, October 23, from noon to 4pm we are hosting skateboarding workshops and other activities for neighbors. Skateboards will be provided. By having people learn about the park and use the park, the city is more likely to find the funds to redo the park.
the steps
We are inviting local business to provide activities in the park. Brooklyn Boulders will provide a "slack line" and Homage Skate Shop will provide instructors to present a skate clinic. A local artist will teach kids silk screening on recycled wood. We will have live music for entertainment and food and drinks.
why we're doing it
We are holding an event in Thomas Greene Park, located between Third and Nevins, Douglass and Degraw, near the R train, to bring attention to the physical needs of the park and to bring neighbors together to have a day to enjoy music, exercise and art.
