the project

An initiative based around sustainability, preservation, pollution control and health management of the local tree beds, planter street boxes and flower-beds along Lenox Avenue.

The League: DGM has partnered with The Lenox Ave Business Alliance and MMPCIA for beautification, preservation and revitalization initiatives of Lenox Ave. and Central Harlem, including the Historic & Landmarked Mount Morris Community Park District from 118-125th streets.

the steps

  • Cleanup Process: Removing garbage and weeds from the median on Lenox Ave, from 118th-125th Street
  • Laying down mulch, and soil to help with the growing of plants.
  • Planting: Several different flowers to brighten up Lenox Ave.

why we're doing it

“The "Greener Lenox" was a joint mention of the “The LEAGUE: Gentlemen’s Group”. We felt the idea is a direct way to build personality and character with our younger (and older) generations of brothers, while spending time mentoring and sharing OUR care in their "being".

The Impact - We hope as “The League” constantly strives to give our brother the will be to showcased at their best throughout...starting with our community.” Louis Johnson | “The LEAGUE: Gentlemen’s Group”

To maintain the trees and median flower planter-boxes by watering, weeding, removing trash & dead shrubbery, mulching, planting flowers and bulbs in tree beds, creating tree bed signs and building protective tree guards on a consistent basis.
