This quality of education project is a holiday production at the New Hazlett Theater featuring local amateur and professional talent. This production entitled "The Guardians" gives local youth a chance to be involved in a professional production, learning things such as the importance of ticket sales; what it is like to work with professional talent, sound technicians, lighting technicians; and experience working in a real theater setting.
Once we receive your donations, we will utilize the money to purchase props and costumes and technical support to make this event happen. We are rehearsing every Saturday to present a quality production. The play will be performed on Tuesday, December 17th at 7 PM.
The North Side is a tale of two neighborhoods. There are younger groups within the community that have upper middle class to high incomes. While others are moderate to low-income. The community also have many people in subsidized housing, plus two or three shelters in the community. As a result, while some can afford the amenities of an upcoming community, others cannot participate.
"The Guardians" will provide a low-cost entertainment option for low- to moderate-income residents, with scholarship tickets given to youth groups.
