Our 5th grade Junior Girl Scout troop in Grafton is working on their bronze award which is a project that requires 20 hours of effort from each girl that benefits the community. While earning this award, the scouts learn how to troubleshoot, decision making, communication, budgeting and some physical skills like building things. They are working to improve our local dog park by adding a picnic table, more dog toys and a first aid kit. If they have enough money, they would also like to make an agility ramp.
We hope to complete our project by May of 2024. Once we have funds, we will buy a picnic table kit that we will assemble, put together a first aid kit that can be left available outdoors at the dog park to be used for either dogs or their owners and lastly we would like to purchase some more dog toys to have available. If we have enough funds, we would like to build an agility ramp out of a durable outdoor material so the dogs can have some exercise.
Our project will help people connect in the community in a safe, healthy environment.
