the project
We have planted these trees in two community tree gardens, the Decatur Street Tree Garden and Larrivee’s Woods. We have also added native trees to two other community gardens, Carnes Garden and Carnes Garden East. We are converting an abandoned railroad corridor in the neighborhood into a nature trail by planting native trees. All of our gardens are transformations of vacant and abandoned lots that were a blight on the neighborhood. Our first step is to label the 50 native trees that make up the Decatur Street Tree Garden and Larrivee’s Woods.
the steps
1. Purchase labels for the trees in the Decatur Street Garden.
2. Install the labels.
why we're doing it
Labeling the trees will be an awsome for school children and neighborhood adults to learn to identify the trees that we have planted!
