Enhance the ability of community pillars to support education. Create "Family Resource Centers" in 2 churches. Give parents and students access to technology and education resources in places they frequently visit, are comfortable and have alternate times for open labs. Each resource center will have: 1-2 computers, one printer, GED/ACT/GRE prep materials, Microsoft office, children's books, a bookshelf and a case of printer paper. 

the steps

1. Ensure the selected locations have secure space and furniture for the equipment.

2. Purchase equipment/resources (2-3 days)

3. Set-up equipment at locations (2-3 days)

4. Tour of Family Resource Center for church/community members (within one week of setup)

why we're doing it

In the communities we serve, we have to meet people where they are, literally and figuratively! We want to create access to resources where people naturally gravitate towards and that allows us to serve them where they are comfortable. Library hours have been cut and the church locations have staff willing and ready to assist users with making the best use of the resources.
