A Diverse Series Of Events Aimed At Promoting Cycling, Community, Education & Good Times. We aim to make bicycling for transportation accessible and fun to women of all backgrounds and inclinations through fun events that appeal to a wide variety of perspectives.
Year two will build off all the learning from year 1 - including
- a sponsorship kit that needs only to be modified before being sent out
- a comprehensive call of volunteers to build a responsive local mailing list
- fundraising beginning now for a practical view on event management
- RFP to bring in local partners to organize collectively
- solidify online promotion channels to increase awareness
- make editorial calendars for popular city publications
why we're doing it
As an individual and as a designer; I am committed to making cycling for transportation an established and positive experience for everyone. The benefits of making bicycling a safe and fun form of everyday transportation has enormous benefits for human and environmental health. It's also a great way to build community in an increasingly digital era.
This is less than what last year's series cost to produce. We try to keep all the events free and this means that costs add up, especially when you're doing 12+ that's about $124 per event for a city-wide month long advocacy program with a pretty broad reach.
There are venue costs, food/coffee (when not donated), some transportation costs, supplies (the sidewalk doesn't paint itself!) and sometimes things like paying a photographer, a manicurist (bike maintenance and manicures are a really good time!) and some fliers for local bike shops to reach people who otherwise wouldn't know about the program.
project total = $1495
3% third party credit card processing fee= $44.85
5% fiscal sponsorship= $74.75
ioby materials and labor= $35
total to fundraise = $1649.60
Sorry, but this project doesn't have any updates yet.
