the project

This project will create a mobile "Cantina Alley".   Cantina Alley will include a paint by the numbers mural, outdoor tables and chairs, lighting, and landscaping.

El Reno is a community that embraces and celebrates culturally diversity.    There are currently a number of Hispanic owned restaurants and retail establishments downtown.  We are experiencing more cultural diversity and that brings new opportunities for community growth, business development, and relationship building.  This project will bring everyone in the community together to reach a better understanding and appreciation of differences.

For 29 years, Main Street has followed a plan to revitalize the downtown. The successes include restored storefronts, street festivals, block parties, parades, and new businesses. One of the biggest challenges that remains is an environment built for vehicles rather than people. What is needed is a catalyst for new investment and a resurgence of energy in the district.

Downtown hosts a mixed use of retail, restaurants, service, entertainment and art venues, artists, housing, vacant spaces, pocket parks, murals, and the Heritage Express Trolley that runs through the area.

This placemaking project when completed will be a place for people to hang out and enjoy the new atmosphere and synergy of the area!

Cantina Alley will be used for food truck events, art events, and other downtown activities.  It will be a hub for community celebrations and a focal point to create additional development of spaces and places for people.

the steps

Once the funds are raised, all items will be ordered.  Delivery of the items will be completed by April.  The first mobile Cantina Alley event will be held in May.
