the project
CCBF (the Carondelet Community Betterment Federation) has helped create 8 murals in Carondelet that have increased beauty in the neighborhood. We have the artist and the wall location already selected for the 9th mural, we just need to raise the funds to make it happen. Participants will be allowed to help in the painting of the mural with coloring in the outline, which is a map of the neighborhood.
We should be able to designate points on the map for "sponsors" = donors, or give them preferential treatment and/or perks.
the steps
1) Raise the necessary seed money to commit to doing the project with small contributions. Larger amounts could be eligible for NAP tax credits and are able to deduct their donations as a charitable contribution. Contact the organizer directly to do that.
2) Hire the artist.
3) Recruit community members to help.
4) Create the mural.
why we're doing it
We are complimenting our collection of outstanding art on walls with this 9th mural.
With the makeover of Bellerive Park and it's connection to Sister Marie Charles park below, this artwork will connect the two.
