the project
We want to do our part to save the earth, by encouraging and educating yard owners to compost and mulch grass clippings, leaves and yard debris. We want to eliminate the use of non-biodegradable trash bags for this purpose, thus reducing our carbon footprint, beginning in our neighborhoods, one yard at a time, and one leaf at a time. The benefit to the homeowner is free soil and mulch for their lawns and gardens and for our city, the reduction in size of our land fills.
the steps
1) Educate the public about the benefits of composting and mulching of grass clippings, leaves and yard debris;
2) Assist homeowners build personal composting/mulching stations and teach them how to manage them;
3) Create community composting/mulching stations, if needed.
why we're doing it
To save our planet. To reduce our carbon footptint, to reduce the size of our landfill and to reduce the use of non-biodegradable trash bags for the disposal of grass clippings, leave, and yard debris.
