the project

Nurturing Our Seeds goal is to educate on sustainable growing practice and provide accessibility to healthy vegetables and fruits to our community and the city of Detroit by creating food access areas. These food access areas can help struggling families as well as act a common community interest.  What we plan on accomplishing through this project? This tractor equipment will serve as a substitute for the people of the community that want to give a helping hand; unfortunately, they are unable to do so physically and/ or financially. In addition, this equipment will allow us to produce more food during our already short growing season. The tractor will aid in the landscape developing of the Worship Garden, Annual Fruit Tree & Perennial Installation, 3rd round Crop Planting. Why are we doing this work?  Our children, grandchildren, our families deserve to live a long healthy life free from overpriced, molded, spoiled, and expired foods in their neighborhood grocery stores. We are doing this work because we must use food as a healing method to our bodies, and choose to eat naturally, chemical-free. The Importance of Giving Nurturing Our Seeds recognizes the importance of giving to establish a thriving economy. We are warriors fighting for food justice. We appreciate everyone that has supported this initiative by contributing to past projects and/or future endeavors. You make our work both possible and powerful--thank you for strengthening the movement. We plant one seed of love and knowledge at a time; in hopes of a bountiful harvest of health and wellness.

...and to think this started by planting one seed, then one pack of seeds, and then making a commitment to love and nurture them faithfully
