Based on the facts from TheCoalitionForTheHomeless in March of this past year 2018, there were 62,974 homeless people, including 15,393 families with 23,110 homeless children sleeping each night in the shelter systems of NYC. Not only are these families without adequate housing they also experience a diet of poor nutritional value. They are given largely processed foods. Foods that eventually will cause health problems later down the road. This is why we here at MrsRonnie'sHouse have deemed it necessary to do our part to provide these families and homeless individuals with a nutritional based meal that will help keep them healthy until such time as many of them can secure their own housing. So on July 13th, of next month, which is my birthday, I am asking people to help me celebrate it by feeding (200) of these homeless families and individuals with a healthy nutritious meal.
We will start on Burnside ave in the Bronx,NY noted as one of the poorest section in the Bronx and we will walk our way down to the Franklin ave shelter distributing our food to those homeless individuals on the streets until we reach the shelter and give out the rest of the food right there.
This is the beginning of a larger goal. Too many people are unaware of the importance that nutrition plays in our lives. As a consequence of this not being informed we do not realize that outside of genetic factors our type 2 diabetes could have been prevented. That our high levels of cholesterol could have been prevented. That our high blood pressure could have also been prevented if we were in the know on proper nutrtion and its importance. So we plan on building a larger organization that will provide (3) nutrtional meals a day for the homeless families and individuals along with important nutritional information that will get our society on the right path of a healthy lifesyle. We must remember and live by the saying of old " Let Thy Food Be Thy Medicine. And Let Thy Medicine Be Thy Food ".
