the project

My name is Joe Allen Hemphill and I am a liscensed teacher, with my MBA and a certificate in financial planning. I am a Paladin.

The Paladin Intitiative is designed to focus on at risk African American communities in Buckeye, Hough, Kinsman, and Union. These neighborhoods are deeply impacted by violence and poverty. Help us train 10 young entrepreneurs in business and financial literacy. Together, this summer, we will create a business plan and promote economic development in the Greater Buckeye area.

the steps

  1. June & July- Fundraise
  2. August- Host a 6 series seminar on entrepreneurship
  3. September- Start a financial literacy club
  4. October- Pitch competition
  5. January 2019- Create a start up fund for entrepreneurs age 16-25

why we're doing it

To bring at risk communities out of blight and distress. Economic development has to occur at the grassroots if it is going to be self sustaining. We will focus on developing green businesses, that privide sustainable jobs for our neighborhoods. Poverty in these ineighborhoods is the common denominator in at risk communities. Reducing or eliminating poverty will reduce stress, crime and increase community happiness.

What you spend your money on is what you believe in. What do you believe in?
