Roundhouse Revival is back for a third great event at the great and historic Mid-South Coliseum. This is a free public event that will feature the Coliseum's 3 great brands, music, wrestling, and basketball, tied up in a day of Coliseum brand of fun and community. Roundhouse Revival 3: Open Up The Door will happen on Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 2 to 10 p.m.
This IOBY project is specifically designed to pay for the entertainment portion of the day, especially the musical and wrestling talent that will entertain the crowd from the 2 wrestling rings set up in front of the Coliseum in the middle of Early Maxwell. In previous Roundhouse events, we've been lucky and blessed to have wrestling and musical acts willing to donate their time to the cause. For Roundhouse 3, we wanted to be able to pay the acts for their time and their tremendous creativity.
And thanks to some generous Coliseum supporters, once we reach $4000 in donations, they will match the rest of the budget!!!
Roundhouse 3's wrestling promoter is Memphis area wrestler and promoter Derrick King. Handling the musical portion will be Memphis musician and impresario, Graham Winchester. Derrick and Graham have already begun recruiting the musical and wrestling acts for the event, which promises to be the funnest and most diverse Roundhouse yet.
We want to finish the campaign on June 21 to allow time for the funds to be available for our acts on the day of the event.
It's long past time to bring the community together again to display the creativity, community, and fun that built the Mid-South Coliseum, and made it a special place in Memphis. It's time that we "Open Up the Door!" once and for all on a building that has always represented the best of Memphis and Memphis' future. A previtalizing event like this is how citizens, leaders, and investors can begin to imagine a real future for this great building.
