the project

The city of Memphis has some of the best soils for trees. There are large and very old trees all throughout the city. Many of the storms and straight line winds cause large unstable trees to fall over. Sometimes those trees land on houses and powerlines. Many of the senior citizens in the Memphis area particularly in the 38106 zip codes live beneath the poverty level. These senior homeowners would greatly benefit from the trimming of trees around their homes that could cause unsafe conditions.

the steps

Tree Trimming Policy

We will contract crews to trim trees that potentially pose a hazard to the home or obstructs safe passage around the property. The amount of clearance needed is determined on-site and depends on several factors, such as how close the tree is to the home and the type of property involved.

Tree removal policy

Removal

If the homeowner has a tree whose trunk is within 10-15 feet of the house, and endangering the safety of the occupants, we will try to remove the tree.
