the project

In an effort to help ease the cost of school uniforms of low income families in our neighborhoods, Helping Hands Foundation is raising money to purchase uniforms for the children attending Shelby County Schools in Memphis TN. A vast number of children living in our communities are living below the federal poverty level and providing adequate uniforms for their child or children has created a burden on families. The impact on students that lack appropriate clothing to attend school has led to students not desiring to attend school on a regular basis which has impacted drop out statistics. In an effort to bridge the gap between poverty stricken and non-poverty stricken households, Helping Hands Foundation is commissioning your support . Your donation and support will enable Helping Hands Foundation help students to strive for a better education and a better future. Thanks in advance!

the steps

On July 1st we will be campaigning for families in need of help with uniforms and supplies. At that time we will take names and numbers and sizes of how many children. Once we have gathered that information we will then total up the cost and move forward and begin to help as many families as we can in the Shelby County Area. On Aug 5th we will be distributing the uniforms and supplies to the children as they attend the back to school uniforms and supplies drive. At that time we will check list and make sure we have distributed accordingly.

why we're doing it

The project that Helping Hands Foundation is attempting to implement will focus on solving a social and economic problem in our city of Memphis, TN.  We are doing this in an effort to have as many children attend school the first day of school, ready to learn with comfortable and clean uniforms. It is our personal and professional experience that the exuberant joy of a child attending the opening day of classes with adequate clothing that they can call their own is life changing.
