During Covid 19 in 2020 there was a need for our families to be supported with their social and emotionally development in their own homes and daily lives. Coordinating Youth Self Care Day was a task that we took serious and other community organizations supported it. Our first event was Executed on June 23, 2021 at Mama Akua Community House with other Community Orgs that signed up as vendors to provide free services and give resources. As we get to Our 4th Annual we are continuing our COMMUNITY initiative focused on promoting mental health and well-being among young individuals with their families. It's a summer day dedicated to providing resources, services, and activities that support the mental, emotional, and social aspects of OUR YOUTH AND THEIR PARENTS. By sharing Resources we are able to bring awareness that will EDUCATE and SUPPORT COMMUINTY BUILDING by connecting families with local health care orgs, mental health care orgs, therapist counselors and community centers that are INTENTIONAWITH FOLLOW UPS AFTER OUR EVENT. Overall we will create a non-judgmental space where youth can connect with others, share experiences, and feel empowered to prioritize their well-being.
