About Us
The Pitkin Avenue Business Improvement District is comprised of 16 blocks between Howard Avenue and Mother Gaston Blvd extending along Rockaway Avenue between Glenmore and Belmont Avenues. The BID delivers services to our many merchants and owners and has a meaningful impact on our community through quality of life initiatives. Since its founding in 1993, we have: launched and refined our sanitation, security, and beautification programs, and worked to integrate those services with each other; initiated a street banner campaign to define the district; initiated a marketing campaign to boost commerce and build a community identity; At the Pitkin Avenue Business Improvement District, we are continuing to develop standards to further improve our sanitation and public safety programs, and strengthen our relationships with city agencies to deliver the best possible services to the Pitkin Avenue community. Our streetscape beautification programs focus on aesthetically improving our streets and sidewalks and our marketing programs serve to drive business to the district and help bring a sense of identity to our neighborhood. We remain committed to providing the Pitkin Avenue community with the best in services and enhancements with efficiency and effectiveness. As always, we welcome and encourage your input and assistance as we work together to build and celebrate a better Brownsville.
