River Region Food Policy Council is creating a Community Food Assessment, affectionally dubbed "The Food Turn Up", will provide accurate, community-specific data on our entire food system in Montgomery, Macon, and Lowndes Counties. It will also identify our region’s biggest food-based challenges, as well as our best opportunities for meaningful change. Our assessment is now entering its third year, after eight seasons of informative and inspiring community input from every level--consumers, producers, processors, distributors, and waste handlers--and just plain good food! Why do we call it the Food Turn Up? Well, who wouldn't turn up about food? At least Michelle Obama understands.
