the project
The Friends of Washington Market Park would like to develop and install a
butterfly garden in our favorite park.
the steps
Parks Department Gardener Richie Haugland has developed a master plan for the butterfly garden. Once we secure funding we will begin work! We will unveil the Butterfly Garden of Washington Market Park in spring 2017.
why we're doing it
We are doing this to benefit butterflies, to educate people, and to beautify Washington Market Park.
The Butterfly Garden will beautify an otherwise unplanted area of the park. It will also provide an educational opportunity for children and adults alike to learn about butterflies, their life cycles and the plants with which they interact.
