***UPDATES***
The project will be donating a water slide to be used by children who live near Memphis community centers .
This water slide will be taken around the city in the summer months and set up for a couple of hours.
This water slide idea is primarily for children to have something to do that is free in the city that rivals something like an water park.
This water slide will be available for adults to rent out for children with a low cost fee that will be used for general maintenance on the water slide.
The whole idea really is to give kids something really fun to do in the summer that is really affordable and keeps kids busy.
The water slide could be used during birthday parties as well.
Block parties could be done as well as community competitions like BBQ contest, family contests, etc.
the steps
the first steps will be to get as many project participants as possible to fund raise and also to look in on the project and spread the word once it is completed.
The next step is to come up with activities that can go along with the water slide itself, like having block parties every week.
The next step would be to get as many suggestions as possible to get families or groups involved for competitions that would go along side the water slide as well.
The third step is how other community based programs can prosper off of this blueprint and see how this can be duplicated in other communities.

We are doing this because of the lack of activities in the summer months and to help deter crime as well that is being commited by juvenile offenders.

We are regular citizens who want to donate a water slide to the children of Memphis.
We thought that the best place to have the water slide would be at community centers or the parks.
We have people in place to handle the liability that is involved with the water slide and the security that would have been needed to keep the kids safe while sliding.
We are not using community center employee's or their resources, we are just looking for a familiar destination to the children in Memphis and believed the community center would be the best site for it.

Today flyers were passed out and excitement was felt during this process for something that is absolutely needed.
Also we spoke with the Parks and Recreation people today and they asked for a proposal for the communtiy idea.
This idea also can be used as a crime deterrent and therefore will be brought to the attention of Memphis Police Department next and Law enforcement next to see if they would like to donate.
