the project
The Cooper Young neighborhood is known for its Trestle sculpture and "I Love Memphis" red mural, at Central and Cooper. Unfortunately, other main entries into our neighborhood aren't as inviting. We would like to add small "pocket parks" in these areas. These pocket parks would not only create unique entry points into our neighborhood, but further our community pride and ownership.
the steps
We would love to raise $3500+ to beautify these four corners of our neighborhood. Our main sources of fundraising will depend on meetings, mail requests, Facebook, and our community resources. Our goal is to raise this money by March 23, 2016.
why we're doing it
We have very few green spaces in the middle of the city. These pocket parks will beautify our neighborhood, improve our air quality, make our streets more walkable, promote a sense of traffic calm, and add to our community pride.

As summer approaches, our garden club has taken steps to beautify our neighborhood with pots filled with beautiful plants. We have our first garden walk scheduled for May 21st and would love to have our pots established by then. We thank our donors and our Ioby team for the help and the donations.
