As you know, this has been a rough couple of years with COVID, crazy weather, a couple of break-ins at our community garden, the theft of tools and supplies, and now our raised beds need replacing. Lydia's Magic Garden is excited about rebuilding, renewing, and growing stronger, but we need your help.
Our fundraising campaign is targeted to do four things:
Our community garden will thrive again. But we need your support to grow stronger.
In November we will purchase a secure storage chest and use it to store supplies.
In December/January we will purchase 5 pallets of concrete blocks and begin replacing the rotting wood of our raised beds.
In February we will purchase a number of replacement tools that have been stolen this growing season.
In March we will purchase seeds and seedlings for spring planting and summer 2023 harvesting.
Our community garden continues to serve Manhattan's most impoverished neighborhood by growing fruit and vegetables and by hosting gardening education workshops for East Harlem Girl Guides, summer school students with learning challenges, and an adult day program.
Your support will allow us continue to serve East Harlem and grow in 2023 and beyond.
Please, help our garden thrive.
