Dana J. Schneider, Community and Growth Manager

A lifelong loyal Brooklynite, Dana has been doing work for gender, economic, and racial justice, to build community, and to support arts and culture locally and nationally for more than two decades. She is grounded by a belief that a good sense of balance and healthy practices create strong and sustainable organizations and that there is power in bringing people together to make change.

Most recently, Dana spent five years as an independent event planning and fundraising consultant, collaborating with small and mid-sized groups (from the Northwest Bronx Community and Clergy Coalition, to Resource Generation, to the Participatory Budgeting Project) to build their resources, to think strategically about their programming, and to effectively and dynamically engage donors and constituents with their mission. Previously, Dana served in leadership positions at the Foundation for Jewish Culture, the Workmen's Circle/Arbeter Ring, Jews for Racial and Economic Justice, and Jewish Voice for Peace. She attended Wesleyan University, and earned a certificate in Arts Administration from the Arts Leadership Institute at Columbia University's Teacher's College, and an MPA from the Wagner School of Public Service at NYU.

Dana lives with her wife, Kathleen and dog, Kaylee in Canarsie, and is learning to garden in their front yard.
