Development Associate

Mel helps ioby grow by cultivating financial support from individuals and businesses who believe in neighbor-led change. Originally from State College, PA, she has been an organizer in one form or another since she became a peer sexual health educator in high school.

She received a US History degree from Barnard College, where she was a fellow with Student Global AIDS Campaign (a project of Health GAP). After graduating, she joined Americorps to serve non-profits in CA, OR, and WA as part of the National Civilian Community Corps. She then relocated to Madison, WI and worked for the Mayors Innovation Project as a water management and workforce policy associate.

Recently relocated back to NYC, Mel spends her free time having political conversations and organizing (most often centered on health care access), dancing or biking, and reading tarot cards.
