We plan to cultivate curiosity in our participants, strengthen their social and emotional skills and enable them to THRIVE, which we've broken down into, Trust, Honesty, Respect, Integrity, Valuing People, and Effective Communication. So we enable them to THRIVE in an ever changing world while becoming global citizens.
It is a year-long program with 4 participants and we will meet weekly for 2 hours and focus on various life skills in 4 week increments, such as financial literacy, confidence building, presentation skills, etc. We will lead the various sessions that we have knowledge or expertise in and will recruit volunteers who are professionals in their field for the others. Travel helps kids develop life skills such as resiliency, flexibility, self-control, optimism, staying calm in high pressure situations and being comfortable outside their own culture.
We believe in the quote, “It’s easier to build up a child than to repair a broken man”. Off Da Block believes it is important to get our children exposed to as many things that will promote building high self esteem and worth, critical thinking skills, confidence building and gain an appreciation of other’s culture, food and language as early as possible. Travel helps kids develop life skills such as resiliency, flexibility, self-control, optimism, staying calm in high pressure situations and being comfortable outside their own culture. Our goal is to enable our participants, whom we call, Globetrotters, to T.H.R.I.V.E. in an ever changing world while becoming global citizens.
