Food From the Heart's mission is to be able to maintain and provide delicious and nutritious food for those who are hungry and those who are looking to build community. We would like to run a social enterprise where we would be able to use a donation pay what you want model to make the pop up food events self sustaining We would like to set up at the Hope Resource Center in East Westwood, Westwood Second Saturdays, Shelterhouse, Worship in the Park, and Laundry Love events. Other sources of revenue would be to possibly book catering events such as block parties, churches, or weddings, in order to fund the ministry.

I believe that everyone deserves access to healthy, fresh meals, even if they are less fortunate. Due to Covid, food insecurity has increased for many of our neighbors. Many who have never been hungry are now struggling to have enough to eat. Pop Up Events let us be flexible and move to where the needs are throughout the city. It also allows us to use a pay what you can model. No one will ever be turned away. I have been cooking meals at My Neighbor's Place for over a year. I also prepare meals four times a month at Shelter House (formerly the Drop Inn Center) for those women and men that do not have stable housing. I enjoy sharing food with others and the time to be in community and build friendships; this is even more important as communities rebound from covid and friends and neighbors reconnect.
I am a graduate of Cincinnati Cooks and I will be working with City Link's food service training to build on the skills I already have in cooking and serving meals. I can't wait to get started and to nurture neighbors' bodies and spirits.
