D.Cipher is a music mastermind collective for Detroit's community of musicians dedicated to connecting musicians to resources and information needed to develop and advance in their career, while advancing the music economy through shared learning, collaboration, and partnerships.

Host Masterclasses for Musicians - Masterclasses are in-studio sessions with established Detroit musicians; an intergenerational learning experience for emerging Detroit artists. These intimate conversations with established artist serves as career and cultural training for the young artist. Topics include a deep look into their process, lived experiences, and how to grow as an artist from this city.

Host Jam Sessions - Our jam sessions are recorded with a small live audience, giving listeners an opportunity to be inside of the music, and connecting musicians to their supporters in a unique and exciting way.

Host Summer Concert Series - Our summer concert series activate public spaces with something you can feel - a diverse lineup of live music, while providing paid performance opportunities for local, independent musicians.
why we're doing it
Detroit is a city rich in musical history, with artists contributing their talents and skills to shape multiple genres and the music industry at large, both nationally and abroad.In recent history, many Detroit based artists have been required to move to other cities to create sustainable careers for themselves in the creative sector. While Detroit based music artists should have the opportunity to share their music locally, nationally and globally, moving away from the city should not be a necessity for artistic development and success. As Detroit is rapidly growing and changing, it is vital that musicians bolster ourselves to grow with the city.Detroit is experiencing major redevelopment and music artists must understand the opportunities that are arising in the city to fully take advantage of them.
Through our work alongside the music community, we look forward to the following:

Provide valuable resources and opportunities for artists to grow their careers.

Strengthening the Michigan and Detroit music scene.

Being a one stop hub for all things Michigan music.

Working with the music community and government to establishing a Detroit music district i.e. rehearsal spaces, live venues, music gear stores, record shops, etc.

Advocating for music-friendly and musician-friendly policies.
